As per earlier post, on July 27th at Covernotes Tea and Coffee House, 10268 Yonge Street (Richmond Hill) between one and three P.M. I will be reading from the Wandering and Sojourns series.  Covernotes is dedicated to encouraging local writers and boasts a reading library from where customers can choose books to read while supping their coffee.  Should be a great event shared with 5 other writers from the area.  http://covernotes.wordpress.com/aboutrichmondhill/

Publishers of OnLineBVI magazine will soon be featuring one of the stories from the next Wanderings and Sojourns book to hit the streets (“On Tropical Islands and Sparkling Seas”)  on their web-based magazine of the British Virgin Islands (http://www.onlinebvi.com/)…. It’s a true story about my involvement with snow boarding in the British Virgin Islands …… and I ain’t lyin’!

Currently in negotiation with printers for a new illustrated children’s book just finished based upon the last story in book 1 of the “Wanderings and Sojourns” series.  Brilliant illustrator Cheryl Uhrig and I collaborated on this unique book which gently introduces the semi-independent reader age group to thinking about the environment through a fun story, a new species of Elf with several sub-species, and an activity section which highlights easy to grasp but essential conservation and environmental principles.

Watch for the spring Edition of King Mosaic, published by Arts Society King (ASK) which will feature an environmental poem I wrote last year “If I could Change” which received very positive commentary from The Green Party of Canada.  That poem will be published in Book 4 of the “Wanderings and Sojourns” series “The Second Book of Songs and Verses”   which I’m starting to compile based upon the success of the first.

Building on the success of last year’s first event, on Saturday March 16th I host/emcee the 2nd annual “Five Line Rhyme Time” (AKA Limerick) contest organized by Art’s Society King (ASK) at The Postmaster’s Hose, on the corner of King Road and Highway 27 in Nobleton, King Township, Ontario.  Last year there were some truly inspirational Limericks from the tastefully raunchy to the artistically intellectual and we hope to build on that this year,  An evening of Irish tradition including Irish pub fare but we’re leaving the food colouring out of the beer and wine.
